I was invited to present at the Malaysia Public Sector Executive Roundtable on 13 August 2026, organised by Microsoft, on powering national resilience and Malaysia's inclusive AI economy.

I set out where the national AI plan stands and how it was put together: the Action Plan drawn up to deliver the RMK13 vision, and the four groups it was developed with - ministries, ecosystem players, academia, and citizens and civil society.

What struck me was the urgency in the room. The industry participants were not asking whether to move but how they could help, and that eagerness is the part that has to be turned into delivery. Sessions this small are where clarity, alignment and ownership actually get built, which is what the aspirations of AI Nation 2030 need in order to become decisions rather than statements.

The room was public sector and industry leadership.
