This post was drafted with AI from my event notes and approved by me.
Early next month I’ll be travelling to Tokyo for the 2nd OECD-SEA AI Dialogue, which the OECD is convening with the Government of Japan as host.
The OECD-SEA AI Dialogue is part of the OECD’s work with Southeast Asia through the Global Partnership on AI and its Global Relations and Cooperation team. It’s a chance for countries in our region to sit at the same table and compare how we are approaching AI. The format is an in-person roundtable, so I expect it to be more conversation than presentation.
I’m grateful to be speaking in the session “Harnessing Responsible AI across Southeast Asia” on Friday, 6 November. My aim is to share how Malaysia is thinking about responsible AI, drawing on the National AI Action Plan 2026-2030 (https://ai.gov.my/aiactionplan2030), and to listen to how our neighbours are doing the same. Southeast Asia is varied, and I think that variety is a strength when we learn from one another.
I’ll share more once the programme is out. I’m looking forward to the conversations in Tokyo.
