I took a series of pictures during the recent Merdeka Parade celebration where Malaysia celebrated it 50th year of independence. It was early morning and the sunlight was blocked by some trees. There were some spots where the sunlight would peep in. I waited for the perfect timing when the sun could shine through the leaves and branches of the trees to provide just the right amount of lighting on the peole involved in the parade. By doing this, the rest of the image would be dark leaving the subject perfectly lit.
I took this with the 1D Mark III and EF 70-200mm f.2.8 L IS at 200mm with the following setting f/2.8 1/1250th ISO 200 aperture priority.
RAW conversion in Canon DPP and bw conversion in PS Elements.
