Photosynth

I was catching up on my blogwatch today and I found this post in Jim Talkington’s prophotolife.com on photosynth.

I was really left a bit speechless and my mind was going overtime on the possibilities. Photosynth is a new software developed jointly by Microsoft Live Lab and the University of Washington.

Basically you take a bunch pictures (the more angles and zooms the better) of a particular location, upload it to the website and then create a photosynth of the location which is a stitch of all the images. You can rotate, zoom in, zoom out, look for details and all that wonderful stuff (provided you have adequate pictures. I haven’t figured out how they do this but I can’t wait to try it out. I just got to find a Windows machine to use as the software is not compatible with Mac.

Brilliant innovation. So many possibilities. Check it out.
