Executive Health Screening – I’m getting the engine looked at…

>

I decided to get a complete and thorough medical check up. It’s long overdue and I should have had it before I started all this madness (fun madness anyway). Prince Court Medical Centre is a relatively newish medical centre in KL and it boasts some of the best equipment in the country. They have a department called ‘The Executive Health Screening Centre’ which offers an extensive range of tests and screening and I chose what they call the ‘Well Man Screening Package’ (what a name).

This package contains the following tests:

Full blood count with PBF and ESR
Unit ABO and RH typing
Lipid profile
Liver function test
Glucose
Renal profile
Bone metabolism profile
Free Thyroxine (FT4)
Hepatitis B Screening
Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) Factor
Alpha-feto-protein (AFP)
VDRL (RPR)
Uric acid
Urine test
Consultation and physical examination
Vision Testing
Pure Tone Audiometry
Stress ECG (Treadmill) with report by cardiologist
Lung Function Test
Body fat analysis
Chest x-ray with report
Ultrasound Abdomen and Pelvis
DEXA (2 region) (Bone screening of osteoporosis)
Urine FEME
Carcinoembryonic Antigen (CEA)
Hepatitis C IgG Antibody
Hepatitis A IgG
HIV I & II Antibody
Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA)

My appointment is tomorrow morning and I have to fast for 8 hours (getting hungry now).

I have to admit I’m feeling a bit apprehensive about this which explains why I’ve delayed it for so long. I know that I’m not in the best shape and I’m just a little bit concerned about the findings. I am however excited about the Stress ECG on the Treadmill. I can finally determine exactly what my Maximum Heart Rate and can therefore train with more precision.

I hope I’ll be able to get through it with little or no drama.
